Pennies for P.A.W.S. was founded in 2019. We are dedicated to supporting and advocating for animal welfare through project-based fundraising, raising community awareness and providing opportunities for community involvement.

You can help us make a difference through donating, volunteering, or purchasing items in our store.

Our most recent donation went to featured partner Wags & Whiskers. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of animals in a highly underserved area! ALL donations we receive go directly to animals in need.

Pennies for P. A. W. S. originated in a dream. Co-founder Debbie Ruttenbur literally dreamt of a nonprofit called Pennies of Paws and then asked her good friend Ashley Wilson to join her. Together, they worked out the details of “paws” and settled on “pets, animals, and wildlife services” or P. A. W. S.

In addition to our co-founders, we have so many in our community who have partnered with us! We couldn’t make a difference for animals in need without their support.

SHELLEY

Shelley was a neighborhood cat who had not been spayed and had been allowed to roam. Shelley had a new litter of four kittens plus an older kitten from a previous litter when a concerned neighbor took this family in and contacted PfP for help. Our generous donors sponsored all six cats for spay/neuter surgery.

With the help of our donors, Shelley and her babies are now all healthy adult cats who each have forever families of their own!

MAMA MOLLY

Mama Molly was a homeless mama cat who had four kittens born on a front porch in the middle of a major wind storm. PfP donors sponsored all five cats for spay/neuter surgery.

Thanks to the generosity of people like you, these cats all have forever homes of their very own.

McRAE

McRae was in the care of rescue organization Proverbs 12:10. McRae had a terrible leg injury, presumably from being hit by a car. McRae’s vet bills were adding up as he needed hip surgery and was found to be heartworm positive.

Our generous donors came to McRae’s rescue, and we were able to sponsor this precious boy to help with the veterinary care he needed.

SHASTA

Shasta was rescued from a breeder. She was urgently in need of dental care and spay surgery. Thanks to our donors, PfP was able to sponsor sweet Shasta for the care she needed so she could start her new life as a beloved pet!

SAMPSON, SARAH, & JAKE JAKE

In one of our biggest outpourings of support to date, PfP’s 2024 calendar sold out in record time. The proceeds of our calendar sales allowed us to donate over $2,000 for the rehabilitation of Sampson, Sarah, and Jake Jake.
